Obituary of Vernon Deason

Delmar “Vernon” Deason age 78, died peacefully in his sleep March 8th, 2021 in Kellyville Oklahoma. He was born on March 6th, 1943, in Tulsa Okla to parents Lois and Cecil Deason. He was raised in Turley Oklahoma, where he also attended Cherokee School. He worked as a roofer/carpenter and general handyman as a self-employed individual, eventually settling in Kellyville along with his wife Juanita. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Calvin Deason and Lois Exine Berkley Deason, and his son, Delmar Vernon ‘J.R.’ Deason Jr., as well as his twin sister Freda Shirley Deason, sister Ethelene Phelps, and sister Bettye Hess as well as Brothers Calvin Deason, Bruce Deason, twin brothers Roy and Ray Deason, and brother Raymond Deason. Vernon is survived by his wife Juanita of the home and his three daughters Barbara Corter and husband Steve of Edmond, Ok., Freda Sweatt of Edmond, Ok., and Jannifer Robinson of Wagoner, Ok. Surviving siblings include 3 brothers JD Deason and his wife Shirley of Bartlesville Ok., Garry Deason of Tulsa Ok., Buel Deason and his wife Sandy of Tulsa Ok., and 3 sisters Nettie Hoffman and her husband Vernon of Collinsville Ok., Beverly Rogers of Tulsa Ok., and Kathy Brown and her husband David of Tulsa Ok, along with 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren. 3 stepchildren: Vickie Bishop Gowdy and husband Barry of Sapulpa, Ok., Jimmie Bishop Jr. of Kellyville, Ok., and Gary Don Bishop and wife Marianne of Kellyville, Ok. 9 step grandchildren and 14 great step grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends. We take comfort in his passing to know that he made peace with our Lord and Savior prior to his passing.
