Obituary of Richard Junior Myers

Richard Junior Myers, 72, of Shaw, Mississippi passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Ascension St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Son of the late Ernest Jr. and Ruby Myers. Richard was a U.S. Navy Vietnam Veteran, and while serving in the Vietnam War he was trained as a Machinist Mate. He later became a Site Manager for Dematic at American Airlines in Tulsa, OK. Richard will be remembered for his sense of humor, love for his family, his two dogs Echo & Thor, love for food, and his unselfish acts of kindness. Richard was extremely passionate about sports, while in the Navy, he boxed and coached the ship’s basketball team. He later volunteered his time to coach little league basketball in Memphis, TN and Verdigris, OK. He was a true Arkansas Razorback fan and loved spending his time calling the Hogs. He is survived by his devoted wife Erlinda (Claro) Myers, two sons Richard C. Myers and wife Brielle Myers of Centerton, AR, and Joshua Kane Myers of Centerton, AR, daughter Vanessa Wylynn Myers and Gabriel Perkins of Centerton, AR, mother-in-law Estelita Claro of Berryville, AR, sisters-in-law Amelita Burden of Claremore, OK, and Juana Claro Tayabas of Berryville, AR, cousins Aurora Griffith of Collinsville, OK, Sue Gray of Drew, Mississippi, Sam Ellis of Hernando, Mississippi, Gary Ellis of Delta City, Mississippi, and Jean Cummins of Drew, Mississippi.
