Obituary of JON EDWARDS

Jon Paul Edwards, born December 28, 1936 in Aurora, Illinois went to be with the Lord after a bout with cancer.  He retired from the US Navy after 20 years.  He then went to OUR and graduated in 1985 with a Bachelors' Degree in Social Work.  He worked at several Hospices in the area and did counseling.  He loved to hunt, fish, boating and horses. He was an ordained minister and enjoyed helping people. Jon is survived by his wife Beverly of 52 years.  He is also survived by three children, Debra Lopes, James and Brian (Patti); a brother, Robert Edwards, grandchildren, Jon Carols (Kristen), Daniel Lopes, Emily Edwards, several Great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Frances.  The family is requesting donation be made to the American Cancer Society or Open Door Ministries. Visitation for Jon will Monday, November 16, 2009 at from 9AM to 9PM at Green Hill Funeral Home.  Service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at Carbondale Assembly of God Church in West Tulsa.  The family has entrusted the care of the service to the directors at Green Hill Funeral Home.
