Obituary
Obituary of Raymond Alvin Zinn
Please share a memory of Raymond to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Raymond Alvin Zinn was born June 4, 1940 to Buford and Norma Zinn and left for eternity with his Lord on April 18, 2021.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents Buford Francis Zinn and Norma Eller Taylor Zinn, by his sisters Minnie Little, Mary Barrett, and Nora Cole, and by his grandsons Corban Lyon and grandson-in-law Brady Anderson.
He is survived by his beloved bride Linda Faye Zinn, by his children Raymond Zinn, Jr. and wife Heather, Aldea McClure and husband Curtis, Elly Griffin and husband Kevin, Dawn Soward and husband Jeff, Brian Zinn and wife Kelly, by his grandsons Brian, Caleb, Andrew, Eric, Chase, Daelen, Doug, Patrick, Carson, Joseph, Ian, Caydan, and Baylor, by his granddaughters Carole, Christina, Keeley, Briley, and Annalyn, and by his many great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
An only son with three little sisters, Raymond grew up in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. He joined the U.S. Navy and served on a tanker in the Pacific. Upon his return, a neighbor girl spotted him outside the window and decided right then that she was going to marry him. Sure enough, he and Linda did marry fifty-seven years ago and proceeded to raise five children while he delivered brand new automobiles across the central United States. He could often be found out back feeding the chickens and donkey or calf. He enjoyed both reading and watching good, old westerns. He loved spending time with his sweet bride, visiting with his friends and family, and established a heritage of strong Christian faith which he passed on to the next generations.
Funeral Services are scheduled at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Smokey Hurst officiating. Viewing will be at the church beginning at 2:00 pm just prior to the funeral. Interment is in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Casket Bearers are grandsons, Brian Dalton, Caleb McClure, Andrew Zinn, Eric Dalton, Chase McClure, Daelen Soward, Doug Dalton, Patrick Zinn, Carson Soward, Joseph Zinn, and Ian Soward.
In lieu of sending flowers you can make donations to his son-in-law Jeff Soward's prosthetic leg fund. https://www.gofundme.com/f/2bnyc9tlhc?utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet&utm_medium=copy_link_all&utm_source=customer
