Linda grew up in Sand Springs in her early years. She lost her dad when she had just turned 3 and her mother when she had just turned 13. At that point there were several aunts and uncle who gathered together to decide what was the best choice for her and her sister. When given the options of moving in with a relative or possibly the Sand Springs Orphanage where her mother grew up, her uncle said no. There are other options. Linda and her sis chose their 2nd Family. They chose their Uncle Mac and Aunt Berta, and that is how they have a chosen family. She attended Foster, Lewis and Clark Jr, high’s and East Central High School in Tulsa, Ok. She worked for the State of Oklahoma for 35 years, she worked at Hissom Memorial Center in Sand Springs until they closed down and then transferred to DHS in Tulsa. She loved her jobs and made many friends over her 35 year career with the State. She loved Watching the Oklahoma Sooners play Football whenever they were on and enjoyed going to high school football and basketball games that her boys played in. She enjoyed going to band concerts and plays her older grandchildren were in and later her youngest granddaughter’s dance recitals. She was so proud of all her boys and their families. Weekends were her times to get out, dance and be with friends. When that ugly cloud of Cancer found her, she fought him off with everything she had in her. But after 8 years her tired body just couldn’t fight any more. In lieu of flowers you can make a Donation to the American Cancer Society or St. Judes.
