Obituary of Randall Don Ness

Please share a memory of Randall to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Randall “Randy” Don Ness, 56, unexpectedly passed away on December 30, 2020, following a short illness. While Randy was taken from this world too soon, his loving heart continues to shine through every person who knew him. Randy was born on December 29, 1964 in Bartlesville, OK to Loren Don and Johnna Moore Ness. He spent his adolescence there with his family before moving to Bixby, OK, where he graduated from Bixby High School in 1983. After high school, Randy enlisted in the Air Force. He served on the maintenance crew for Lockheed C-5 Galaxy aircrafts at the Altus Air Force Base in Altus, OK. After being honorably discharged following his tour, the love and passion for aircrafts that Randy found in the Air Force continued to grow. He went on to study Airframe and Powerplant at Spartan School of Aeronautics, graduating in 1989. Randy continued to pursue his education, earning a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Aviation Management from Oklahoma State University in 1992. Following his passion, Randy began his career as an Airframe and Powerplant technician for General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) in 1996. Randy climbed the ranks of the company, eventually becoming the Director of the Airframe and Powerplant Department. While in this position, he grew the department from a handful of employees to over 400 team members. Above anything else, Randy was a proud father to his son Jayden Ness. Jayden was absolutely the light of his life. Even more than aircrafts, Randy loved to watch Jayden play baseball; he never missed a practice or a game. Baseball was a passion Jayden and Randy shared, giving them something to cherish together. Along with being season ticketholders for the High Desert Mavericks, they attended Dodgers games together when they could, and even attended games in the World Series two years in a row. Randy lived life to the fullest. His adventurous spirit led him to travel all around the world. His vibrant personality was infectious, with his smile and charm captivating anyone around him. His patriotism radiated from him. Beyond that, Randy’s kind heart was what truly shined through. It is said he never passed a homeless person without helping them. From a homeless person to his friends, family and coworkers, Randy genuinely had an everlasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know him. Randy was starting to look forward to the day when he would retire. He dreamed of moving back to Oklahoma. He, and his girlfriend, Christie, would have a house overlooking a pond. He couldn’t think of anything better than going out in the morning to catch a fish for lunch. Randy is survived by his son, Jayden Ness, of Victorville, CA, his sister Kathy (Glenn) Ness Pribbenow, Matthew Pribbenow (nephew), of Lawrence, KS, his brother Scott (Steffanie) Ness, Justin Ness (nephew) and Kinsey Ness (niece) of Youngsville, NC, and his girlfriend, Christie Rogers, of Bixby, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents. In honor of Randy’s love of giving, we encourage people to support a local homeless shelter near you or Claremount Homeless Advocacy Program Office, 830 West Bonita Avenue, Claremont, CA 91711, CHAP4claremont@gmail.com.
