Obituary of Jacob Alan Purifoy

Please share a memory of Jacob to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
“A Celebration of His Life” Jacob Alan Purifoy March 18, 1964 - May 22nd 2021 Jacob Alan Purifoy, or Jake to most, was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend to so many in the Sapulpa area. Anyone who knew him always had similar things to say about him. “Jake! Such a kind, generous spirit!” or “Jacob LOVED Jesus!” Also, “Jacob knows that Bible!” He was always giving gifts with some personal connection to it that made you feel like it was something you truly needed; something he’d picked up at a garage sale or happened upon that surely someone specific would need. If he wasn’t reading the Bible, or watching some Christian program then Jacob celebrated life the best way he knew how; with his friends and his family. As a son, Jacob loved his mama! He wanted to spend all of his time with her, if he could. Jacob loved to cook. He would often cook meals for his mom anytime he could get his hands on a pot and a stove! Baking was his new favorite pastime and he really enjoyed baking those sweet cakes. A new creation every time. “I made this one with some Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and Oreo Cookies!” It was out of this world sweet, chocolaty goodness! As a brother, Jacob wanted to share scripture. He loved telling people about a verse he’d read that spoke to him. He cherished the Bible and read from it daily. He wanted to stay in the word as it really kept him out of trouble and gave his life meaning and purpose. We believe that Jacob was right with Christ and however sudden his life ended, Jacob was armed with the word of God and forgiven through the blood of Jesus. As an uncle he was always helpful with the babies. For decades, the babies came into his life; whether they were nieces, or nephews or grand nieces and nephews. Jacob was such a great care giver to them when he was around. He held them for hours, without complaint, and looked after them as best he could. Those days, Jacob shined as a care giver and nurturer when his family needed him the most. Jacob had so many friends in Sapulpa, and surrounding areas. He has left in his absence a long list of loving friends that will never forget the impact he has made in their lives. He cherished them and shared every dollar he ever got to help when they needed it, or just to celebrate living with them. His generosity, some would say, was to a fault, but he never saw it that way. If he could, he would give until it hurt to the people he loved. He is survived by his mother Barbara Cooper and step-father Kenneth E. Cooper; his brothers Joseph Purifoy, Kenneth Cooper, Jr. and Caleb; his sisters Julie Kirk, Molly Purifoy and Margo Hampton; as well as many nieces, nephews and their children. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Daniel Purifoy. Jake has left a huge hole in the hearts of so many lives that he touched. We are all saddened by the sudden loss of our dear brother, son, and Uncle Jake.
