Obituary of Walter Lee Franklin

Walter Lee Franklin was born on March 19,1965 in Lake Village, Arkansas. He was the son of Lennie (Barley) Burge and the late John Burge, Walter passed away on June 20, 2021 at his residence in Coweta OK, at the age 56. Walter is survived by his wife of 31 years Tammy (Purdom) Franklin, Daughter Tailor (Franklin) Halbert and husband Ray Coweta, OK; son Kendall Franklin Coweta, OK; Granddaughter Mila Rae Halbert Coweta, OK; Mother Lennie (Nell) Burge Tulsa, OK; Sisters Sylvia Rumohr West Tulsa., Dottie Dooley Albuquerque NM; Father-in-law Johnny Purdom, and Treva McClung; Sister-in-law Tina (Purdom) McChristian, husband Mike and their daughter Alyssa Preceded in death by his late Mother-in-law Nita (Bowers)Purdom Walter married the love of his life Tammy Purdom on April 28th 1990 in Coweta, OK and they made their life together in the Coweta/Tulsa area for the last 31 years. Walt was a fun loving guy who enjoyed building and driving Classic cars attending car shows, drag racing and all other things car related. He always loved motorcycles and in the last several years he and Tammy have traveled many miles on their Harleys. They have numerous friends who were part of their motorcycle crew. Walt was a jokester and loved poking fun at his friends, but could take it as well as dish it out. He had a special friend Angela Suder whom was often the butt of his jokes The light of his life was his Granddaughter Mila. Walt enjoyed spending all the time he could with her. They played in the park, went to the zoo, but the most rewarding thing for him was taking Mila for rides on his Harley.
