Obituary of Martha Jean Freeman

Martha Jean “Jeannie” Freeman was born on April 17, 1934, in Lincolnton North Carolina to mom Mazel Stallings (Leonard) and stepdad Floyd Stallings. She passed away on June 23, 2021, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jeannie earned her GED in North Carolina and became a CNA for 5 years. She moved back and forth between Oklahoma and North Carolina, but finally settled in Oklahoma.
Jeannie is survived by her children Rickie Brewer and wife Lela Brewer of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Allen Brewer and wife Rosa Brewer of Jay, Oklahoma, Michelle Matheny and husband Chris Matheny of Owasso, Oklahoma, brother Johnny Stallings of North Carolina, and sister Barbara Stamm of Michigan, grandchildren Erhart Brewer and his wife of Oklahoma, Shawn Phillips and his wife of Oklahoma, Joshua Brewer and wife of New York, Molli Beverage and husband of Oklahoma, Matthew Matheny of Connecticut, Maggie Matheny of Oklahoma, Caleb Brewer of Oklahoma, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and great grandkids.
She is preceded in death by her mom Mazel Stallings, and stepdad Floyd Stallings, siblings Joyce Hawkins of North Carolina, Eddie Stallings of Florida, Lola Stallings of Florida, son Johnnie Brewer of Oklahoma, and granddaughter April Brewer of Oklahoma.
Jeannie loved making braided rugs, quilting, sewing, gardening, her dog Suzie, and most importantly going to church at New Beginnings Fellowship in Sand Springs, where she sang in the choir. She loved Pastor Mike and his wife Debbie and her church family so much. Jeannie loved her family and was dearly loved by them. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorial services will be planned in the fall of this year at her church in Sand Springs.
