Obituary of Bessie Lee Johnson
Please share a memory of Bessie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Bessie Lee Johnson was born January 18, 1947 and on July 3, 2021 our beloved Bessie was called home to be with the Lord.
Bessie was a true patriot for the Lord. Her light has shined on many throughout her lifetime. She was well known for her dedication, outgoing personality and for being outspoken. She had the ability to teach the Word of God to anyone she met. She worked hard to accomplish the Lord's work and find a place at his side by the throne of glory and now it has paid off and she has reached her goal.
Bessie leaves to cherish her memories 4 children, Oscar Johnson, Rebecca Johnson, Elizabeth Johnson, Mary Kinchion-Johnson, 8 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. She had 3 sisters and 2 brother and numerous nieces and nephews. She was loved by so many people in her community, no matter where she lived. She had a passion for feeding the homeless and other organizations. She had the magic touch when it came to cooking soul food and other cuisine as well.
Bessie's determination was always so strong and we will miss her dearly.
Poem
He Called Her Home
We never thought you’d leave our side,
The pain and sorrow we just can’t hide,
A soldier of God has received her wings,
The honor of your presence will be remembered above all things,
Oh how we miss your jokes, cooking and pranks,
The scent of your perfume and gum, and suits that impressed all but broke the banks,
We miss you climbing in your brand new truck,
Your smile, facial expression and bossiness and such,
Our love for you is past the moon and stars,
The loss of you are no healing scars,
We know you are where you always wanted to be,
In a place of peace where you can rest finally,
He was pleased with the impact of your love for his will,
That he sent his chariot to escort you still.
