Obituary of June Marie Smith

Please share a memory of June to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
“If you say, the Lord is my refuge and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you.” Psalms 94:22. This was handwritten and placed where important and daily reminders reside in our homes. Such was the case with June. She loved God and her faith in Him helped her through life’s struggles. June was a strong, courageous, and beautiful lady who readily took on enormous tasks that few people could handle. She was a caregiver because – SHE CARED. For those in need, she always stepped up to the plate, even when life threw her curves. She adapted and never gave up. She had a huge, loving heart, always. From a cute, giggly, auburn haired little pixy to a 63-year-old with dreadful health issues, she could always smile, joke, laugh, and make you feel important to her. That was one of her many gifts. Junebug was special. She lost her birth twin, her sister Debbie Ockenfels, a few years ago and her beloved son, Justin Smith 3 years ago. She is survived by her son Corey Walker, her daughter Heather Bridwell, her brothers Stanley, Johnny and Kenny Ray, and many nieces and nephews. She was especially close to her nieces Chelsea, Charlene, and April whom she had guardianship for 10 years. June Marie McDonald Walker Smith worked at Tulsa County Courthouse for over 30 years and only got to enjoy retirement a short time. She loved beautiful flowers, decorating, auctions and any and everything fun and exciting. No matter the circumstances, she was always very thoughtful of others. Everyone was always welcome in her home and in her life. Born to Otis and Ruby McDonald on November 24. 1957 in Topeka, Kansas, June passed away peacefully Sunday, July 19. She was surrounded by the most wonderful, helpful, and caring neighbors one could ever ask for. Oh, how she will be missed.
