Obituary of Jeanette Atkinson

Jeanette (Jan) Atkinson was born October 1, 1944 in Visalia, California to Dorothy and James Estes. She went to be with Jesus on July 23, 2021 in Tulsa County, OK. She is survived by her husband Jed Atkinson of Sand Springs, OK, daughter Renee and son-in-law Patrick McComb of Fresno, CA, son Darren Goodman and daughter-in-law Drofn Goodman of Laguna Hills, CA and her daughter Heidi and son-in-law Jon Addington of Sand Springs, OK. Jeanette married the love of her life on November 16, 1980 and they blended their families. From that union, she is also survived by daughter Lynette and son-in-law Bob Stroh of Newman Lake, WA, daughter Laura and son-in-law Roger Shirly of Vancouver, WA, daughter Jodie and son-in-law Ruben Madashiru of Santa Rosa, CA, son Kevin and daughter-in-law Karen Atkinson of Boise, ID, son Dan and daughter-in-law Julynne of Sandy, UT, 27 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren and her brother Gary and sister-in-law Pam Estes of Blanchard, OK, and many nieces and nephews who she loved very much. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Dorothy Estes, and her sisters Barbara Chin and Gloria Smith. She loved spending time with family and traveling. She was an avid seamstress and quilter who loved crocheting. She enjoyed the outdoors and knew her way around a hunting rifle and fishing rod. She loved baking and canning and volunteered for years at the Calvary Holiness Food Bank. Summers spent camp-hosting at Kirkham Hot Springs were always a highlight for her. Mama loved to sing (even though she didn’t always know the words) and bible reading was one of her favorite pass times. Besides daddy, her favorite companions were her poodles Corky and Pierre. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Services and scheduled for 10:30AM on August 3, 2021 at Bethany Holiness Church 15508 W. 61st St South Sand Springs, OK. A gravesite burial will follow. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm on Monday August 2, 2021 at Greenhill funeral chapel at 400 E. Teel Rd Sapulpa, OK 74066 (918) 224-2312.
