Obituary of Carolyn Kay Bartlett

Please share a memory of Carolyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Our Mom, Carolyn Kay Bartlett was born on December 30, 1940 in Westville, Oklahoma to George and Wilma Lee Langley. She passed away unexpectedly on Saturday evening, July 31st at her daughter’s Sapulpa home. Mom was raised part of her life in Westville, Oklahoma. Her family moved to Tulsa during the 50’s and she graduated from Will Rogers high school in 1959. She married her first husband in June of 1960, they had two children and they divorced in 1986. She married the “love of her life”, Dick Bartlett in October 1988, they had 17 wonderful years together before he developed Alzheimer’s and passed away in August of 2005. She was heartbroken after his passing, but she picked up the pieces and marched on. Mom remained active in her “golden years”, she volunteered at the Sapulpa Historical Museum and later served as the President. She also volunteered at the Sapulpa Chapter of the Salvation Army. She was an active member and volunteer of the First United Methodist Church, a church she loved and gained many wonderful friends. Our mom was a wonderful cook and the best pie maker and she loved to talk. Anytime we took a picture of her, she was always talking, it was priceless………….. Mom was preceded in death by her parents, George and Wilma Lee Langley, and the Love of her Life – Dick Bartlett. She is survived by her daughter, Jenny and her soon to be husband, Kenny Smith, her son, Jeff Ellis and his wife Deana of Sapulpa, her brother Mike Langley and wife Debbie, of Cane Hill, AR, stepsons, Rich Bartlett and wife Kim of Tulsa, Paul Bartlett and wife Kathy of Locust Grove, OK, stepdaughter, Sherrie Pickett of St Louis, Mo., grandson, Jerrod Ellis and his wife Callie of Sapulpa, nephew, Josh Langley and his wife Alisha, and their children Addystin and Deegan of Tonitown, AR and a host of step grandchildren that she loved and adored. She is also survived by many wonderful friends. Our Mom was the “Life of the Party”, she was loved and picked on by all, and we are just devastated of her unexpected passing. Mom, we will hold you in our hearts, until we can hold you in Heaven.
