Obituary of Anthony Wayne Payne

Tony, my brother, your nephew, cousin and friend, took his final journey home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at St. John medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on July 16, 1964 to Wanda Lee Brown and Charles Siler Payne in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Tony was the 'black sheep' of the family. He was a rock-and-rollin', head-bangin', pot smoking, laid back loyal to the end type of friend. And trouble was always afoot with him. Additionally, Tony was a mama-fearing, kind-hearted, animal rescuing type of guy. He never complained. Tony hated doctors, and he hated hospitals. Cigarettes were always a constant companion. He could charm you with that smirk of his, brown eyes twinkling in the crease. Pure orneriness dripped through his veins. Tony was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles Rex Payne. He is survived his sister Gayle McGavern, brother-in-law Chuck McGavern, as well as multiple aunts, uncles cousins, and friends. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Green Hill Funeral Home in Owasso, Oklahoma.
