Helen Ann “Dutch” (Burton) Barnes was born on March 8, 1933, to Dorsey Roland Burton and Nella Margaret (Neal) Burton in Sapulpa.
On September 18, 2021, she peacefully went home to be with the Lord.
She was baptized at the Full Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God Church in Tulsa at an early age. She loved her Lord and Savior.
She grew up in Tulsa attending Public Schools and graduated from Central High School in 1951.
She married Don Higley in 1951 and had three children. Karen, Kathy, and Don.
She was employed by numerous companies in Tulsa during her life. Most recently, she was employed by the Tulsa U.S. Attorney’s Office where she worked for nineteen years and retired in 2015 at the age of 82.
For the past eleven years she has lived in Sand Springs with her two daughters, her cat, Georgie, and additional fur babies who she loved with all her heart. She enjoyed reading, watching the Hallmark channel, having breakfast with friends, and going to the casino. She was quite lucky!
