Obituary of Nellie Marie Francis

Nellie "Nell" Marie Dugan Francis was born on March 21, 1924, to Isaiah Jackson and Nora Lee Dugan in Kiefer, Oklahoma. On September 19, 2021, she passed from this life and celebrated a reunion in Heaven with many loved ones. Nell married Walter Donald Francis on June 16, 1946, in Russell, Kansas. They had four children: Donald Clifton, LeeAnn, John Michael, and Timothy Dugan. As Walter was transferred to towns in Kansas and Oklahoma, Nell always found secretarial work and finally retired from the Oklahoma Restaurant Association in Oklahoma City. She was an active member of every church she attended and loved to sing hymns. She was an avid reader and read her Bible daily. Nell was known for her joyful laugh and sense of humor, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nell was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter, her daughter LeeAnn, her sisters Virginia, Ruby, Sylvia, and Bonnie, and her brothers Roy and Raymond. She is survived by her sons Cliff and Sheri, John and Vickie, Tim and April, and sister-in-law Shirley Dugan. She is also survived by her grandchildren Matthew Francis, Michael Francis, Melissa Francis, Tyson Francis, Elise Rose, Eric Smith, Tanner Smith, TJ Francis, Molly Francis, Maggie Francis, and nine great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations be made to the First Baptist Church in Kiefer or the American Diabetes Association.
