Obituary of John Ernest Bilby

John Ernest Leon Bilby, age 79, passed away at Hillcrest Medical Center on Friday September 24th, 2021.
He was born on January 14, 1942 to Ernest and Eleta (Caldwell) Bilby in Tulsa, OK. He graduated from Jenks High School in 1960 and attended college at ORU and OU where he received a master’s degree in landscape architecture.
He was preceded in death by both his parents and his 2 younger brothers, Gerald and Russell Bilby, as well as his youngest son Nathaniel Bilby. Surviving sons include Mark (MaryAnn) Bilby who live in Tulsa and David (Belinda) Bilby residing in Kentucky. Surviving siblings include Frances Champion, Alene Bilby, Marshaleta (Pat) Taylor and Carmaleta (Lonnie) Haralson.
Leon was a member of the Tulsa Police Department, owned and ran his own company, and was in medical sales in the Tulsa area. Leon’s Christian faith and devotion to the Lord was evident throughout his life. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
No funeral services will be held as it was Leon’s wish that his cremated remains be spread upon an open prairie in the Oklahoma wind.
