Obituary of Marian Ruth Pompa

Marian “Ruth” Lovell Pompa was born August 31, 1936, in Tulsa, OK to James Harrell Lovell and Mildred Ellen Chapman Lovell. Ruth passed from this life to her eternal life on October 15, 2021, in Sand Springs, OK. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul Pompa and daughter Donna Nichols. Ruth is survived by her son Paul G. Pompa and wife Carrie of Tulsa, OK, son Keith Pompa and wife Kelly of Sapulpa, OK, daughter Angelita Graham and husband Dale of Tulsa, OK and daughter Doreen Hoover and husband Troy of Broken Arrow, OK, and brothers Cliffard Lovell of Tulsa, OK and James Lovell of Broken, OK. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Ruth married Paul L. Pompa on July 29, 1954, in Tulsa, OK. They were residents of Tulsa, OK for the entirety of their marriage. Ruth and Paul spent many years traveling with friends and family. Ruth was a member of Olivet Baptist Church for 56 years where she served in many areas from caring for the nursery babies to teaching elementary aged children in Sunday School. Ruth was employed as a daycare center cook for many of her working years. She also operated her own janitorial business for several years. Ruth’s family was her greatest source of joy. In addition to spending time with her family, she enjoyed crocheting and collecting Elvis Presley memorabilia. Ruth was a wonderful cook and baker, as many in attendance can and will attest. As many can bear witness to, Ruth never met a stranger and was always willing to give and share what she had to help anyone else in need. Ruth was the epitome of unconditional love. She was blessed with a large, loving family and was cherished by everyone and will be missed by all.
