Obituary of LaTanya Michelle Whisenton

LaTanya Michelle Whisenton was born to John Wesley Whisenton (Wes) & Joyce Joanne Barnett (Cookie) on July 2, 1970 in Oakland, CA. Tanya spent some of her youth in Oakland, after the passing of her father, Joyce relocated Tanya & her sister, to her Home town of Sapulpa, Oklahoma. In the latter parts of her life Tanya resided in Desoto, Tx, where she would take her final breath. Tanya was very inquisitive & was always in search for answers. She graduated from Sapulpa High School, where she was a member of the marching band. She served as a member in the U.S. Army. Afterwards, she became the first member of her family to graduate from a major university. Tanya graduated from The University of Oklahoma with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering. With this degree she worked as an engineer for many years in oil and gas and aerospace. Wanting to stay home more and to experience something different, she became a REALTOR. LaTanya worked with her cousin Erica Texada at ERA Brawn Sterling. Her ingenuity, drive, & personality made her fall in love with the craft. Tanya enjoyed traveling, exploration, and SCI-FI movies. The many hats she wore were bright & full of compassion but her favorite hat of all was that of being a mother. She loved her children & would do anything for them. She loved her family, her friends, and all the many lives she touched and would do anything for them. Tanya was proceeded in death by her father John Wesley Whisenton and Joyce Joanne Morrow (Cookie). She leaves behind her unconditional love in the hearts of her children: Nevaeh Pitts, & TaeVon Whisenton. (Sister) Chandella Owens, (Brother) Anthony Whisenton. (Nieces) Maleah Cole, Jessica Bryant, Amber Morrow, Brandy Morrow, Brittany Morrow, (Nephew) Brandon Morrow, (Stepfather) Nathaniel Morrow, (Grandchildren) Aiden, Camdyn, Kinley, Wes, and Vivyan. (Special Aunt ) Sharon Hammons She is also leaving behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces , nephews & friends
