Mary Louise was born November 7, 1974 to Elliott Michael and Juanita “Jeannie” (Dickson) Rhodes in Casa Grande, Az and completed her race on earth and made it to her eternal home on November 6, 2021 in Tulsa, Ok following a 2 year war.
Yes, we say war because Mary fought and fought hard to live against a disease determined to take her. She was feisty, tenacious and would want you all to know she never gave up.
Mary was always a scrappy, little thing, fighting to find her place in the world. In June 2007 she finally found that place next to the love of her life, Louis Ross. True love settles a person and allows them freedom to be whoever they are. Louis brought that to her life and she to his.
In 2014 Mary’s long-awaited dreams of becoming a mother came true. Her daughter Elliot Belle was born. Watching her become a mother was like seeing someone become completely who God created them to be.
Mary was caring and kind and giving. If she ever made you one of her cheesecakes, then you must have been a pretty special person to her.
Mary would like to let you know that her work here is done. 46 years went by in a flash but what is that compared to eternity!
We will remember her smile, her warmth, her energy, her love for God, family and friends. We are comforted knowing that she is no longer in pain, but is instead in the presence of her Heavenly Father, having a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. And we know when our time comes, she will be waiting for us!
Mary is preceded in death by her father, Mike Rhodes, her grandparents and in-laws.
Mary is survived by her husband, Louis Ross and daughter Elliot, stepsons Lou Ross and Corbin Ross, mother Jeannie Rhodes, sister Cheryl & Ron Putman, brothers-in-law Darryl & Linda Ross and Stephen & Arvella Ross and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. All of these she loved deeply and all of whom will miss her immensely.
