Obituary of Nellie Frances Wells

Please share a memory of Nellie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Nellie F. Wells, age 85, of Newtonia, Missouri, peacefully went home to Heaven on Monday, November 22, 2021, at her daughter’s home in Bristow, Oklahoma. She was born September 2, 1936, in Peoris, Illinois, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Halstead) Coy. On May 22, 1954, Nellie married the love of her life, Stanley Wells, in Noel, Missouri. Outside of the home, Nellie held positions in data entry, sales, and childcare, but her passions were homemaking, her family, and her faith. Most recently a member of Calvary Chapel in Monett, Missouri, Nellie was active in her church her entire life. She loved teaching, hosting youth in her home, and cooking for everyone. She and Stanley were married for 59 years. They had seven grandchildren (her “Angels” and “Dewdrops”), 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She loved to take the kids to Silver Dollar City. Branson was more than a destination; it was a hobby, as were growing and painting irises. Nellie was the matriarch of her family, the way she loved and the example of how she lived out her faith will always remain. Her gentle heart and love for others is her legacy, and a trait she passed on to her daughters, Lou Anne (Richard) Clark of Bristow, Oklahoma, Marsha (Danny) Landreth of Stark City, Missouri, and Debbie Sivadon of Newtonia, Missouri. Her grandkids (Christi Henson, Phillip Stanford, Daniel Contreras, April Mitchell, Missy Perryman, Savanah Sivadon, and Tyler Sivadon) benefitted from a lifetime of their grandma’s prayers and will miss her terribly, as will many nieces and nephews and Nellie’s sisters Joanne (Bob) Stanley of Stotts City, Missouri and Donna (Mike) Shilling of Berryton, Kansas. Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers Frank and Don Coy, her great-grandson Austin Henson, and her sons-in-law, Mark Sivadon, Steve Stanford, and Dewey Perryman.
