Obituary of Leo Angelo Mitchell

Leo Mitchell, 91, beloved husband, dad, grandfather, and friend, peacefully passed on Wednesday, December 8th, 2021. He was born on July 8th, 1930, in Centerville, Iowa, to Jasper and Louise Mitchell. On February 10th, 1957, Leo married his beloved wife Grace (Carlin) Mitchell in Des Moines, Iowa. They were the proud parents of their three children Patrick, Lee Ann, and Stephen. Leo was a forestry major that enjoyed the great outdoors and was relentless in his inquiry and intrigue of nature and the surrounding world. He loved to tinker and build things. Clock collecting became of great interest later in his life. His greatest passion was sharing the joy of scripture with his wife Grace. He found immense joy, strength, and serenity in fellowship with all of those he encountered. Leo was a gentle and kind soul, a great listener, and the forever optimist who never failed to find the best in people. The family of Leo Mitchell would like to offer a special thank you to his church family for all their love and support during this difficult time.
