Obituary of Letha Ann Byrd

Please share a memory of Letha to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On December 6th, 1955, Letha Ann Byrd was born to James and Annie Lou Jennings in Broken Arrow, OK. She was raised in Collinsville, OK. On December 1st, 1978, Letha met Clyde Wayne Byrd. Eighteen days later they were united in marriage. December 18th, 2021 would have been Clyde and Letha’s 43rd Anniversary. Their marriage resulted in the birth of a son, Clyde Wayne Byrd II. This child completed their family of 4: husband, wife, her daughter Loretta, and their son "CW". Letha was an avid reader. Both Letha and her daughter have enough books combined to start their own library. They would read multiple series of books together. They would often trade books with each other and discuss what they had read, were reading, and what they wanted to read. Letha loved cats. She collected porcelain, plastic, and glass figurines of them. She always had one as a pet whether it was a tame housecat or a wild stray outside. Letha also loved Christmas lights. She always looked forward to riding through Honor Heights Park in Muskogee to see the lights lit up during the Christmas season. On December 15th, 2021, at 11:25pm in Muskogee, OK, Letha took her last breath on Earth, peacefully, surrounded by her husband, daughter, and grandson. She was welcomed into the arms of Jesus, and she heard him say “Well done, thy good and faithful servant. Welcome home.” Those left behind to cherish their memories of her are her husband Clyde Wayne Byrd of Muskogee; daughter Loretta McKay and husband Dewayne of Skiatook, son Clyde Wayne Byrd II and wife Donna of Wagoner; granddaughter Haley McKay of Tulsa, Rose Byrd of Wagoner; and one sister Nora Green of Claremore. She was also survived by her grandson Adam McKay of Skiatook, until he passed away on January 29, 2022. She is also survived by a host of other family and friends. Letha was preceded in death by her parents James and Annie Lou Jennings; son John Earl Byrd; and brothers Bill Jennings and George Jennings. Letha will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and everyone else who knew her.
