Eight (8) great-grandchildren Rylee Haught; Addison, Knox & Isabelle Haught; Saige, Stone, & Cedar Quimby and Bowdie Quimby. He is also survived by two sisters and 9 nieces & nephews and a host of family and friends. Dale lived his early years in Cushing Oklahoma before moving to Tulsa with his family. Dale met the love of his life, Jane and they married May 26th, 1961. Together they shared 55 years of marriage. Dale proudly worked in the optical field for many years before changing careers and becoming a sheet metal mechanic. He was a very proud union man for the Sheet Metal Workers’ Union Local 270. Dale shared many stories of the places he worked with his “little” brother and all the people he met along the way. Dale was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and went on many trips with his brother, brother in-law’s and friends. Duck hunting was his favorite. He was a lifetime member of the Oil Capital Rod & Gun Club and the NRA. He enjoyed target and skeet shooting. Dale especially enjoyed reloading ammo. He shared his passion for shooting sports and hunting with his wife, daughters, and his grandchildren. Since the passing of his wife, Jane; Dale and his grandson Chase and lifelong friend- Ronnie Green have spent many hours behind the wheel going to the gun range, gun shows, and hunting prairie dogs in western Oklahoma. Grandsons Bret and Chase were able to share in their grandpa’s last trip out west. A day he talked about until his passing. When Dale was a young man, he loved to ride motorcycles and drag race hot rods. He proudly displayed the many trophies he won while competing at his favorite hobbies. Dale also enjoyed golfing and shared the love of the game with his grandsons Chris, Lukas, and Chase. Grandpa Dale may have been competitive, but never failed to share his pride and joy when talking about his grandchildren. He truly loved each of them and talked about their accomplishments to anyone who knew him. He loved to brag after watching Lukas wrestle, Jordan playing football, Adam roping, and Chelsey playing softball. He would always say his granddaughter was the prettiest girl on the field… and the best one out there too! Dale was instrumental in building the original Sapulpa Girls Softball Association ball fields where he spent countless hours volunteering his time welding backstops and doing whatever was needed. He devoted many hours to coaching his daughters and serving in several officer positions for the SGSA. Dale enjoyed giving back to the community by helping with the Big Build park project along with other service organizations he and his wife Jane were part of. It may be said that Dale’s greatest disappointment in life was not winning the lottery! He always said, “When I win- you girls won’t have to worry about anything!” Little did he know, his girls didn’t worry about anything but ensuring he was well taken care of in his last days. Dale expressed he loved Jesus and with that declaration, we know he now shares a heavenly home with all those who have gone before him. His daughter, Dell cared for him around the clock in the home after a brief hospital stay in December 2021 with the help of her sisters. A special thank you to Kindful Hospice and staff for the comfort they provided his family and for the wonderful care they provided Dale during his final days, allowing him a peaceful transition to his heavenly home. Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, Feb 1 from 2:00 PM at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel - Sapulpa 400 E. Teel Road, Sapulpa .
