Marlene Patricia Deming was born May 13, 1938, to Daniel F. Curran and Anna Laskowski in Los Angeles, California. Her father Dan gave her the nickname Mickie. She had two younger siblings Judith and Dennis. She graduated from St. Bernardines High School, San Bernardino, CA in 1956. While attending the San Bernardino Valley College, she was President of the Association of Women Student Member of the Student Council. She graduated from the university of Sad Diego, College of Philosophy in 1960 with a B.A. in English and Education.
Marlene worked as a teacher in San Diego, CA and in 1963 she married Raymond E. Deming. They had two children, Stephanie Ann, and Christopher Earl. She was divorced in 1970 and moved to LA county. She Taught at Pico Rivera kindergarten through 8th grade. In 1990 she got her Master’s in education and retired from Pico Rivera Unified School District in 1998. In 2012 she moved to Owasso, Oklahoma.
She enjoyed Reading, American History, Sewing, Quilting, the beach, visiting with her college friends, a good debate, and her family.
She is preceded in death by her brother Dennis P. Curran (2008) and her son Christopher Deming (2016). She is survived by her sister Judith Gilmore, Her daughter Stephanie Ann Drennan, her two grandchildren, Curran Ann Drennan and Keaton Marie Drennan.
