Obituary of William Gleason

Wiliam Wallace "Bud" Gleason passed peacefully at the age of 83 in his home on January 19, 2010 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Oilton on May 24, 1926 to William David and Sarah Jane Gleason, and was the youngest of eight children.
William served his country as a Navy Seebee at Iwo Jima. After returning home with an Honorable Discharge, he married Hazel l. Mahoney on September 21, 1946 in Drumright, Oklahoma. In 1951 they moved to Chickasha where he worked as a roughneck in the oil fields of Oklahoma and Texas for Mobile Oil.
In 1962 he began his career of manufacturing trailers for Chickasha Mobile Homes. He and his family moved to Wellington, Kansas in 1965 where he started his first of three RV manufacturing businesses, Mobile Villa, Sunflower and Mayflower. After selling his RV business in 1984, he went to work for Plessey Aerospace until he retired in 1990. During his long life he enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, bowling, riding motorcycles and spending time with children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his four brothers, Clarence, Marion, Vern and John; his three sisters, Pearl, Dottie and Lula; and one granddaughter Jennifer Talbot Hill. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Hazel Gleason; his sons, David Gleason and wife Carol of Claremore, Ok and Bill Gleason of Sapulpa, OK; his daughter, LaDonna Talbot and husband John of Sapulpa, OK and Gina MacLean of Tampa, Fl; 18 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
