Obituary of Birl Randall (Randy) Watkins

Birl (Randy) Randall Watkins Jr., of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on February 16, 2022, at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Birl (Randy) was born on March 21, 1956, in Dallas, Texas to Birl Randall Watkins Sr. and Loretta McCormack Watkins. Birl (Randy) was raised in Mesquite, Texas, with his brother and sister. He spent many happy weekends with close family and friends, Uncle Dub and Auntie Helen, Cookie and Tahlie at Lake Tawakoni swimming, boating, water skiing and fishing. Birl (Randy) was preceded in death by his beloved stepdad, Bob, who he loved and called ‘Pops’, grandparents McCormack and Watkins, aunts, uncles, and father. Birl (Randy) is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary Cowles Watkins, sons Michael (Misty) of Midland, Michigan, John (Jenny) of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Daniel of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kyle (Dana) of Kellyville, Oklahoma and daughter Elizabeth of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Eleven grandchildren: Madeline of Plano, Texas; Dakota, Sean, and Izabella of Midland, Michigan; Mackenzie, John Jr., and Trinity of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; Destiny of Kellyville, Oklahoma; Natalie of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Madison, Kendra, and Kayley of Bristow, Oklahoma. He also leaves behind to miss him, two special “grandchildren” Lexi and Austin who love him dearly and called him ‘PawPaw’. Also surviving Birl (Randy) are his mother, Loretta Sellers of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; his sister, Lawana Merriman of Van Alstyne, Texas; brother, Brian Watkins of Plano, Texas; three nieces: Kristen, Amber, and MacKenzie; brother-in-laws Johnie, Marty, Lance, and Scott; sister-in-law Sandra; and daughter-in-law Elizabeth of Plano, Texas. He is also survived by his great grandson, Jacob Lee of Plano, Texas and one great grandson on the way. A memorial to celebrate the life of Birl Randall Watkins is scheduled for March 13, 2022 at 3:00 pm Canyon Road Baptist church 8550 S. 49th W Ave. Tulsa, OK 74131
