Obituary of Lance Edward Sorrell

Please share a memory of Lance to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lance Edward Sorrell was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on November 26, 1989. On February 21, 2022, at the age of 32 years old, Jesus took him home. He grew up in Sapulpa, Oklahoma and attended Sapulpa schools. Lance is survived by his mother, Sheila Wilson and Hayden Wilson of Claremore; brother, Shae Sorrell (Deanna) of Collinsville; sister, Georgia Pierce (Jason) of Mannford; father, Ronald Sorrell; stepbrothers, Nick Wilson (Nikki) of Claremore, Jonathan Wilson of Vinita, Oklahoma, and Adam Wilson of Charlotte, Arkansas. His aunts, Tammy Whitfield (Paul) of Texas, Rhonda Jones (Lannie) of Missouri, Michelle Bliss (Kevin) of Sapulpa, Melissa Fisher (Lloyd) of Sapulpa, Debbie Dicus (Brock) of Sapulpa, and Carla Self of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Uncle Edward Anderson of Seminole, Oklahoma. Lance’s Me-Me, Juanita Turney (Michael) of Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Lance also had a huge host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lance was preceded in death by his grandma and grandpa, Donna and John Gibbs; great grandma Juanita Renton (Bill); great grandparents Gerald and Hazel Atchley; papa Joe Watson; cousin Sara Self, and Uncle Roy Anderson. Lance was a free spirit; he loved people and never met a stranger. He would talk to anyone that would listen. He loved to fish and cook, and he absolutely loved tattoos. Lance was 6’ 9” tall and large. He was really a gentle giant. We used to joke with him and would tell him that he was big enough to go bear hunting with a switch. He would laugh and say, “Whatever, I’d be running from that bear.” Lance would call me every day, no matter his mood, and he’d always start our conversation, “Hi momma. Whatcha doin’?” His emotions were on a rollercoaster. He had such a childlike love for people. Lance loved hard. If you were his friend, then he was probably calling you his bubba or sis; that was Lance. Lance was loved by so many, and he loved so many. He will be so very missed until we are reunited in glory land at Jesus’ side.
