Obituary of Arthur James Buchanan

Arthur James Buchanan was born on March 16, 1936 to L.W. (Wesley) Buchanan and Evelyn (Zellers) Buchanan in Mannford, Oklahoma. He passed away April 2, 2022, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Mr. Buchanan was a retired mechanic and worked for Unit Rig and Equipment for 36 years. He was a devoted member and served as a Deacon of Friendship Community Church in Mannford, OK. He is survived by Leona (Jones) Buchanan, Parker, mother of his children; sons Dale and Jana Buchanan of Bixby, OK; Kenneth and Toni Marie Buchanan of Bristow, OK; and Tony and Victoria Buchanan of Schnecksville, PA; daughters Arlena Rhodes of Sallisaw, OK; Daneda and Tim Dolbin of Burleson, TX; and Peggy Parrick of Depew, OK; grandchildren Larry Clayton Coleman, Kristin (Coleman) Peerson, Matthew Buchanan, Hannah Buchanan, Olliever Buchanan, Brian Patterson, Kimberly Patterson, Scott Christy, Melissa (Plett) Richardsonm Brittany Plett, Benny Plett, Delbert Parrick, Brandy (Parrick) Potter, Stephanie Parrick, Kyle Buchanan and Tyler Buchanan; 27 great-grandchildren; 4 great, great-grandchildren; sister Sandra (Cookie) and Frank Klutts of Mannford, OK; Charles and Pauline Buchanan of Mannford, OK; sister-in-law Virgie Buchanan of Mannford, OK; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by wife Evelyn Buchanan; parents L.W. (Wesley) Buchanan and Evelyn (Zellers) Buchanan; brothers Jimmie and William Buchanan; sisters Billie Murray and Joyce Smith; sons-in-law Delbert Parrick and William (Eddie) Rhodes. Funeral Services are scheduled at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Friendship Community Church with interment in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 5-7 pm on Tuesday, April 5th at Green Hill Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations toward the funeral services.
