Please share a memory of Grace to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Grace Lorene Fromm, 98 years old resident of Claremore, Oklahoma, passed away early Wednesday April 13, 2022, at Journey Home Hospice House in Bartlesville, where she had been less than 36 hours. Grace was born May 24th, 1923, at home in rural Craig County between Chetopa and Welch to George Marshall and Bessie O. Marshall (Lawless). She was the youngest of seven children. Grace was a 1943 graduate of Welch high school. She married George Roy Fromm in Miami, OK on November 17th, 1943, They were married for 72 years and still held hands sitting on the couch. Grace was a homemaker, farmer, and rancher. She worked side by side with her husband Roy on everything but still made time to can, make quilts, and clothes for her family. She was a wonderful cook from fish to fresh baked apple pie and of course chocolate pie for dad. If it was milking, planting, harvesting, hauling grain, or working in the garden she was there and cooked three meals a day from scratch. She did take time for fishing and one time when dad and I were running the trotline on the Neosho River she yelled from the riverbank “Roy, Roy come quick! I have caught a baby alligator, it was an alligator gar. She loved playing cards with friends and neighbors years ago and going to CB meetings. Reading the Vinita Daily Journal and watching Bold and Beautiful were her main pastimes lately. She was always offering to help and if you lost something she was right there. She loved maple bars, hot coffee, perms, mockingbirds, roses, cattle, and onions; she ate onions twice a day every day. That may be why she lived six weeks shy of 99. She also loved country music especially Alan Jackson, Westerns of which “Tells of Wells Fargo” with Dale Robertson was one of her favorites. Wrestling which she watched since 1951 when they first got REC electric to their farm home. Most of all she loved her family. She shared her May 24th birthday with her granddaughter Shelly. She always looked forward to being with her twin great grandsons Hunter & Parker with whom she was with almost every day. Christopher Peterman was very special to her, she would get a twinkle in her eye and light up when she got to see him even if he would shake her wheelchair from behind to say hi. She is already missed by her family and friends. Grace was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Lee and Pat and four sisters Eula, Nancy, Mabel, & Isabel. Her husband Roy in 2015 and several special nephews and sister in laws. Grace was survived by her daughter Sharon and husband Jerry Wyrick of Claremore, where she lived with them from 2011 until now. Her granddaughter Michelle (Shelly) Jordan of Claremore, Christopher Peterman of Claremore, twin great-grandsons Hunter and Parker Jordan, A special nephew Kenny McCord and nieces Rhonda Lawson, Shirley McCord and a cousin Charley Fromm. Grace also leaves behind a host of relatives and friends. The family of Grace Lorene Formm would like to acknowledge the wonderful care and services provided by Good Shepard Hospice and Journey Home Hospice House. They were so caring and helpful.
