Obituary of Beckie Loraine Peden

Beckie Loraine Peden was born to Frank and Vira Wagoner on March 24, 1930 in Burlington, KS. She peacefully went home to be with Jesus on June 27, 2022. Beckie married Norman Peden on May 3, 1947. They raised five children, and over the years they were parents and grandparents to countless others. Beckie was a dedicated wife and mother. She showed her love in many ways, but especially by her hard work.
Beckie and Norman moved to Jamaica in 1975 and started a home for boys. When they returned from the mission field, they became house parents at Bethesda Boys Ranch in Mounds, Oklahoma.
They moved to West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma in 1982. During the next decade, they fostered more than forty children. Around 1989, Beckie started working in the library at John Brown University. She was employed there until her retirement at age 90. She loved her job and was loved by many.
Beckie was preceded in death by her husband Norman, their infant son, Steven, and her grandson, Ben Miller.
Beckie is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Sandy and Brian Miller, Judy and Ronnie Coy, Terri and Chris Hammel, Kelly and Thomas Soerens, their son, Greg Peden, 23 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her five sisters, Grace Ashton, Ann Cummins, twin sister Bessie Penrod, Zohna Turner, and Wanda Saxton.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2:00 pm at Mosaic Community Fellowship, 17410 Kincheloe Rd., Siloam Springs, AR.
