Obituary of Jerry Janet Herd

Jerry Janet Herd was born on September 16, 1928 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Pansy Elvira and William McKinley Dill. She left this earth four days after her 94th birthday on September 20^th, to be with her husband J.R., her five siblings, George, David, Della, Loretta, and Bueford and her son, Dearld in Heaven.

Jerry married J.R. Herd on December 8, 1945. As farmers, they raised & grew most of their own food and traded eggs for flour and other staples. They had two children, Marjory and Dearld. Later they moved to Tulsa where she worked at Cathy’s making draperies for many elite homes in Tulsa. Later she worked for Commander Mills, sewing pillowcases. She loved gardening and could grow anything. At 90 years old she planted 54 tomato plants and furnished fresh tomatoes for friends and family & had plenty left over!

Jerry is survived by her daughter Marjory, four grandchildren, Perry, Stacy, Lorie and Ivan, eight great grandchildren, Bailey, Ethan, Brandon, Timothy, Carrington, Hannah, Taylor and Lane, two great, great grandchildren, Remington, Lydia and one on the way.

Her family has fond memories of her yummy huge homemade dinner rolls and cinnamon rolls and homemade ice cream. We will miss you mom, granny, great-granny, and great-great-granny.
