I'm so sorry I missed Valeta's funeral. I met her through her niece Rhonda Whitney and I loved every minute I was around Valeta. She was a Christian role model and always warm and gentle. She will be missed and will forever be loved in our hearts. Thank you to Marion & Art for taking such good care of her.

My heart is so full knowing that my dear precious friend is with Jesus, whom she loved so passionately. It showed in everything she said and did. A true reflection of Christ, the essence of a godly women, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her mentorship over the years enriched my life beyond explanation but I pray it is evident in my life today. Her energy seemed endless and made her seem younger than her age. One time we had to get flights to go to a women’s ministry training together. I told her I tried to get us discounts but they only gave them to senior citizens and she busted out laughing. She said, “Bunny, I’m in my 70’s”. I couldn’t believe it and wow she even out ran me at the airport running to catch a connecting flight. So many wonderful memories shared with her in ministry, prayer time, visitation, etc. But there is nothing I treasure more than the gift of her time she gave me as we sat side by side in her living room, Bibles opened, studying God’s word and Jewish history together. Hassan and I are so thankful for her devotion to pray for and minister to us.
Her smile, sweet voice, laughter and wisdom will forever be part of who I am. Some people come into our lives for a moment, some for a season, some for a lifetime and some, like my sweet Valeta, for eternity.
Though miles separated us several years ago when we moved out of state, she was always and will always be near in heart and spirit. You beat me dear friend. You got to be with Jesus before me. This is not goodbye. I’ll see you again. But not yet. I have a legacy of the faith you shared with me to share with others. When my work is completed, I’ll meet you there. Save me a seat. We’ll praise our Lord together.
To Valeta’s family, I am holding you in my prayers as He holds you in His comforting arms. What an amazing woman and friend Valeta was. Thank you for sharing her.

Valeta was my biggest cheerleader that wasn't related to me. I met Valeta not too long after we started attending FBC, Sapulpa when I was in the 9th grade. She was a part of the women's night missions group and my Mom was very involved in the women's missions groups and introduced me to her. While I was in college she was a great cheerleader and prayer warrior. After I returned to Sapulpa as a young teacher I was allowed to attend Glorieta Baptist Assembly with a group of vary Godly women of which Valeta was the leader. All of them very much into mentoring me and most have gone to heaven by now. As a mother I was delighted that she was the missions leader for my boys during their preschool years. All through the years she cheered me on and mentored me. She became a very good friend. After she returned to FBC she began working with me on the Nicaragua missions project and was very faithful to always be there. She decided to go on the trip to Nicaragua when she was 83. It wasn't an easy trip for her but she worked as hard as anyone. It was the first trip that I got to see what went on outside of my area because she made me take some breaks and see what a joy the people of the village were to us. When she still lived alone I used to stop by and just visit from time to time. I know there was a long line when she reached heaven waiting to thank her for what she had done for them as she was always a giver and doer.
