Obituary of James Elihu Carver, Jr.

James Elihu “Bud” Carver departed this life on December 15, 2022.  He was born December 25, 1939 in Roxboro, North Carolina.  While serving in the Navy in Key West, Florida, he met Emma Clines of Kiefer, Oklahoma and they married in 1964.  They moved to Oklahoma where he graduated from Northeastern State University in 1968.  Together they had two children, Rachel and Bill. 

He leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Emma, daughter, Rachel Carver Mathis and her husband, Stephan Mathis of Sapulpa, Oklahoma and son, William “Bill” Carver and his wife, Jennifer Dent Carver of Glenpool, Oklahoma. Their four grandchildren 2nd Lt. James “Kyle” Mathis, Andrew Mathis, Abigail Carver, and Allyson Carver.  He also leaves a sister, Marge Hurst and her husband Richard of Reno, Nevada, and brother, Lee Carver of Daytona Beach, Florida. 

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, F.O. and Eula Carver, Kathleen and Samuel Whitten, his father James Elihu Carver, Sr., mother Virginia Carver Gentry, and sisters Harriette Jane Carver and Patsy Carver Dixon.

In lieu of flowers please donate to the Linden Street Christian Church (Mail to 2531 S. Galaxy Rd Sapulpa, OK 74066 - attn: Treasurer) or the Mounds Senior Center where Bud enjoyed being with friends and playing pool.
