Obituary of Matthew Levi Smith

Please share a memory of Matthew to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Matthew Levi Smith was born on February 19, 2004 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.  He was carried on angel wings to Heaven on December 28, 2022, at the age of 18 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.

Matthew was raised mostly in the Sand Springs/Sapulpa area. He mostly attended schools in the Sand Springs School district. In the 10th grade he joined the Sandite Football program where he made several friends.  He met his best friend, Lane Martin, in the 5th grade and the bond they shared was more than friendship, they were brothers. They loved fishing and shooting pool with their “crew” or just hanging watching movies.

Matthew loved watching movies, playing video games, shooting pool, and just hanging with his buddies. He loved playing football and was proud to be a Sandite and even if he wasn’t in the game he could be seen up and down the sidelines cheering on his teammates.  He graduated from Charles Page Highschool in May of 2022 and was planning to go to OU to pursue his dream of becoming an Architectural Engineer

Matthew’s greatest accomplishment in life was when he accepted the Lord as his Savior. He was a member of Church That Matters.  He was an employee of Quik Trip and loved his job.

Matthew was preceded in death by his birth father, Clinton Smith, his grandfather Charles Conley and extended family Clark Boyd Sr.

He is survived by his parents, Clark and Teresa Boyd of the home. Brother David Smith of Reno, Nevada, Sisters Sarah Smith and fiancée Danielle of Reno, Nevada and Elisabeth Smith of the home. Extended family Tyler Boyd and wife Tylee of Sand Springs, OK and Kenya Dobson and husband Myles of Cushing, OK.  Grandmother Naomi Conley of McAlester, OK. Grandparents Geary and Becky Smith of Sapulpa, OK. Extended family Barbara Boyd of Sand Springs, OK. Uncles Charles Conley and wife Alischa of Bristow, OK., Timothy Conley and wife Amanda of McAlester, OK., and Wayman Smith and wife Susan. As well as host of cousins and many friends.
