Obituary of RAYMOND COPLEY

Raymond Clyde Copley, Age 83, loving husband, father and grandfather went to be with Our Heavenly Father on April 21, 2010. Raymond was born in Tuttle, OK on July 12, 1926. Raymond married his "Peaches & Cream", Virginia Lee Alberding on November 21, 1945. They had three children together. Raymond was a fireman known as "Theodore" for the Sapulpa Fire Department. He retired from the Fire Department and then did construction work over the next several years. Raymond was a member of the original "Sapulpa Banjo Band" and various other bands over the years that have performed for Governors, Senators, Benefits and nursing homes. Raymond and Virginia also played at various churches. He really enjoyed playing and played several different instruments. Raymond was a very caring person who would help anyone that needed help. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church in Sapulpa. Raymond left behind his wife of 64 years, Virginia, his sons Mitchell Copley (Gertrude), Dallas (Brenda) Copley, and daughter Tonya Glandon. Six grandchildren - Shawna Hutchinson (Don) of Mansville, TX, Chad Henderson, Erik (Carrie) Henderson, Amy and Heather Copley, and Dallas (Christa) Copley. Six great-grandchildren Jennifer Mayfield, Emily and Adyson Henderson, Braden and Bryson Henderson, and Deaton Copley. Raymond is also survived by two bothers, Gene Copley from Knoxville, TN and Sonny Copley (Sandra) from Ardmore, OK, a sister Benetta Taylor and preceded in death by a sister, Mary Duncan. Services will be held at Bible Baptist Church, 513 N. Ridgeway, Sapulpa, OK on April 26, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. The family has chosen to entrust the care of the service to the directors at Green Hill Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tulsa Jewish Hospice whose has been such a wonderful blessing to the family the past few months. Also, the family wants to thank Northside Nursing Home and Green Hill Funeral Home for all their love and support.
