Obituary of Donald Morris McCarver

Donald Morris McCarver of Tulsa, Oklahoma, age 77, passed away on Thursday, April 27. He was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Anna Mae Davis and Morris McCarver.

He attended high school through his junior year then enlisted in the Army at age 17 and served from 1962 to 1968. After returning home he worked various jobs and attended Vo-tech for various machining trades. Most of his career was spent as an aerospace machinist at McDonald Douglas. He also worked as an auto mechanic part time at his good friend’s auto shop. When he retired from McDonald Douglas, he taught machining at Vo-tech.

Don enjoyed hunting and fishing in the outdoors, wood working and reading, and spent a lot of time at his American Legion Mohawk Post 308 helping as much as he good and serving as the post Commander. He enjoyed the days they would put on bingo for the veterans at the Claremore Veteran Nursing Home.

He was very ornery and loved to make people laugh.

Donald McCarver is survived by his daughter Tiffany Pruitt and husband Ronnie Pruitt, granddaughters Ashton Pruitt and Breanna Pruitt and her fiancé Jordan Hayes, his brother Tom McCarver and wife Shen Wei, and his nephew Tommy McCarver and wife Amber McCarver.

He is preceded in death by his mother Anna Davis and his father Morris McCarver.

 

Graveside services will be at Fort Gibson National Cemetery on May 2nd, at 10:00 am, the reception to follow at American Legion Mohawk Post 308.
