Obituary of Homer Dee Barnes

Homer Dee Barnes, Jr. was born in Hannibal, Missouri on March 18, 1938 to Homer Dee Barnes, Sr. and Gladys Barnes. He passed away to be with the Lord March 21, 2023 at the age of 85.

 

When he was 3 his family moved to Arizona due to his mother’s health. Homer was raised in Phoenix, Arizona along with his younger brother, Richard Lee. He lived there until joining the Air Force. He married and had 2 children, Doug Barnes and Pamela Barnes. In 1978, while working at Safeway, he met Peggy. The couple spent 45 years together. Their family includes Terry Barnes, Shannon Eaton, Justin Barnes and wife Tracy, all of Tulsa. Four stepsons, Terry and Annie Voss of Kellyville, Randy Voss of Wagoner, Sam and Debbie Voss of Glendale, AZ, and Kelly and Judy Voss of Tulsa, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren.

 

Homer was a loving man who worked with the boy scouts for many years. He was very crafty, and he loved camping and old cars. He was very loved by his family and will be missed greatly.

 

Services are in the care of Green Hill Funeral Home.
