Obituary of Charles Wayne Boggs

Charles Wayne Boggs was born in Bixby, Oklahoma on November 13, 1934 to Claude (Bud) and Ruth Boggs. He passed from this life on June 3, 2023 at the age of 88 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Charles graduated from Berryhill High School and loved the fact that all three granddaughters graduated from there also.

Charles was in charge of mortars in the United States Marine Corp. He served from January 1956 to January 1959. He then went to work for Western Supply Company until it closed then continued working at Ventaire Corporation until his retirement.

In 1961, he married Shirley Horton and had a daughter in 1964. Charles was a longtime member of the Allen Church. He loved fishing, hunting and sports, especially watching his granddaughters’ athletic events.

Charles is survived by his wife Shirley Boggs of the home, a daughter Nancy Boone and husband Darren of Sapulpa, OK. Charles is Pa to three granddaughters, Courtney Pitts and husband Bradly of Sand Springs, OK, Jessica Boone of Weatherford, OK, Megan Boone of Sapulpa, OK. He loved his visits with great granddaughter Laklyn Pitts. Charles is also survived by his sister Laura Hancock of Tulsa and brother Duane and wife June of Jenks, OK. He also leaves behind a legacy including numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Services will be held at Allen Church at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 8, 2023 with interment in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, June 7th at Green Hill Funeral Home. Arrangements are in the care of Green Hill Funeral Home.
