Obituary of Cindy lou Dods
Cindy Lou Dods was born to William and Catherine Dods, on February 29th, 1956 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the eldest daughter of six children.
Cindy began her high school career in Rancho Cucamonga, California at Alto Loma High School - finally graduating in 1974 from Enid High School. Following her graduation Cindy then began college classes at Phillips University. In 1975 Cindy married Michael Danahy, soon thereafter came their three beautiful daughters, Melissa, Jennifer, Sarah
For seventeen years, Cindy acted as a healer both inside and outside of the medical field. She assisted Doctors, as well bandaged boo-boos of her grandchildren - she charted patient reports and taught ABC's to countless children at her home daycare.
Cindy never looked down on anyone less fortunate, or hesitated to help anyone that needed it. She was a follower of Christ, a lover of all things, and the human embodiment of sunshine. Her outstanding achievements as a Mother took a backseat in 1995, as she seamlessly stepped into the role she was absolutely made for… Grandmother. Cindy was an outstanding Grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
As we remember Cindy, we think back to her delicious baking, her warm hugs, her stories, her wisdom, and her ability to make everyone feel needed and important, as well as her ability to fill rooms with laughter and joy. Cindy never met a stranger, and truly believed in family.
Cindy passed peacefully surrounded by her family at 5:20 p.m. at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Cindy is survived by her three daughters: Melissa Danahy, Jennifer Danahy and son in law Clint Zacharias, Sarah Dyer and son in law Erick Dyer. Two step-children Lee Ament and daughter in law Trisha Ament, and Amber Gent and son in law Stephen Gent. Her grandchildren: Rebekah Dayton, Jazmin Davis, Jade Davis, Rylee Zacharias, Gavin Dyer, Eli Dyer, Jorydn Zacharias, Grayson Ament, Torrin Ament, and Kai Gent. Her great grandchildren: Ziyah Dayton and Ezra Dayton. Her siblings: Frank Dods, Michael Dods, Terrie Parks, and Sandi Baker-Lemon.
Cindy was preceded in death by her Mother Catherine Dods, Father William Dods, Sister Susan Young, and Grandson Kaleb Danahy.
Philippians 4:6-7
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. "
