Obituary of Troy Leon LaFevers

Troy Leon LaFevers, 94, went to his Heavenly home on June 30, 2023. He was born in Colgate, Oklahoma to Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Limuel LaFevers on December 31, 1928. He was married to Wilma Neely LaFevers on May 27, 1950.

He started his career at Mayes Lumberyard. While working as credit manager for Mayes, he also started his first business, a dairy farm. In 1958 he moved to Sapulpa, he opened LaFevers Appliance Store and later LaFevers Firestone Store. In 1976 he opened LaFevers Carpet store.

He and Wilma have been members of First United Methodist Church in Sapulpa and Cookson, Oklahoma. He had served on the Board of Trustees and helped plan and build a new parsonage at Cookson. He has been a member of the Kiwanis Club and the Chamber of Commerce. He served as Sapulpa City Commissioner in 1970.

He retired in 1992 and moved to Lake Tenkiller, where he enjoyed fishing and golfing. They moved back to Sapulpa in 2010 to be near his family.

Troy is survived by his loving wife Wilma; children Denton LaFevers and wife Lou Ann of Sapulpa, OK, Mike LaFevers of Sand Springs, OK, and Joy Million and husband Barry Million of Sapulpa, OK; grandchildren Chad LaFevers and Jon LaFevers, Lauren Wyzard and Kate LaFevers, Jeana Madden and Bret Million; great-grandchildren Tomi LaFevers, Molly LaFevers and Reagan LaFevers, Cadence Wyzard, Gavin Wyzard, Declan Wyzard and Sutton Wyzard, Dillon Madden and Dawson Madden, Blake Million and Wyatt Million. Troy is also survived by other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Emma LaFevers and daughter-in-law Sharon LaFevers.

The family would like to thank Grace Hospice, A-Vow Hospice, Beehive Homes of Glenpool and Clarehouse in Tulsa for their excellent care of our loved one. We are sincerely grateful for their kind and compassionate care.

Funeral Services will be held at Green Hill Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at 10:30 am. Interment will be in Green Hill Memorial Gardens.
