Obituary of Dixie Lee Hardee

Dixie L. Hardee of Oolagah passed away unexpectedly on July 10, 2023 at the age of 77. Dixie was born on July 1, 1946 in Westville, Oklahoma to Raymond and Iza Jarrett.

 

Dixie was preceded in death by her husband WR (Bill) Hardee and her brother Harold Ray Jarrett. She is survived by her daughters Rita (Scott) Bassett, Tracey (Mike) Durham, Wesley Thomas and Beryl Lynn Hardee; grandchildren Bailey Peterson, Jeff Bassett, Michael Bassett, Meghan (Aaron) Jackson, Mandie Hale, Matthew Durham, Mistie Rollins, Shawn Bowles; and numerous great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren.

 

Dixie met and married her husband of 44 years on March 8, 1975. She was employed by Aetna until she retired. She was the mother of four daughters and a supportive wife. She dedicated her life to her family and never met a stranger. After her retirement she joined her husband Bill working at Coney Island until his passing in 2019. After retirement, she and her husband Bill enjoyed their time traveling to numerous and various places with their two cats.

 

A Celebration of Life is scheduled at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Green Hill Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00 – 2:00 pm, prior to the service. Interment is in Green Hill Memorial Gardens.
