Obituary of Carolyn Ann Ingram

Please share a memory of Carolyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with much sadness and comfort, we announce that our wife, sister, mom and aunt, has passed away, after a lengthy illness, on Friday,   Sept. 01, 2023 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Carolyn Ann Behar was born on July 19, 1943 to Dewayne Behar and Lela Evelyn Puryear in Ponca City, Oklahoma. After the deaths of her parents, Carolyn and her siblings were raised to adulthood by their maternal grandparents, O.A. and May Puryear.

Carolyn graduated from Ponca City high school. She held various jobs throughout her life, but especially enjoyed helping her grandparents on the family farm. She was a hard worker, loved her animals, working in her vegetable and flower gardens and was a fantastic cook.

Carolyn later married Roger Ingram and they have two sons, Jerry Dean and Dale Lee Ingram.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Roger; son Dale; a sister, Connie (Ed) Riffel; daughter-in-law Trisha Ingram; brothers-in-law, Mike (Gloria) Ingram; Jack Ingram; nephews Tony (Teresa) Ingram; Charles (Stacy) Ingram; Jason Ingram; Donnie (Sherri) Kitchen, Shawn (Susan) Kitchen, Todd (Christy) Kitchen; Mike (Lisa) Riffel and Kurt (Shelly) Riffel and a niece, Megan Younge; Aunts Jerri Lane, Barbara Yowell and numerous family and friends.

Carolyn’s life and what she cherished and celebrated will continue to be remembered by many.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Dewayne Behar and  Lela Evelyn Puryear; her grandparents O.A. and May Puryear; Don and Nena Rieger-Behar; her brother, Butch Behar; and her son, Jerry Dean Ingram.

The family of Carolyn would like to express their gratitude and appreciation of making Carolyn’s last few days with us, as comfortable as they did. To the doctors, the nurses, and the ICU ward of St. John Medical Center. We especially want to send out a special thank you to Nurse Caroline and the ICU nurses for their care and attention.

There will be a private gathering to remember Carolyn at a later date. Carolyn is under the direction and care of the staff at Green Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.

Arrangements are in the care of Green Hill Funeral Home.
