Obituary of Carolyn Josephine Hanna

Carolyn Josephine Hanna was born on January 26th, 1940 to parents, Oleum and LeaLue Kerr. Carolyn passed away in her home on September 22, 2023 in Owasso, Oklahoma. 

Carolyn Josephine Hanna had a deep love of the Lord, he has helped her throughout her life, especially during a difficult childhood, raising four boys, and saying goodbye to close family members. She said, “He has always been there for me and loved me unconditionally.” Her favorite scriptures where John 3:16-18

¹⁶ For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. ¹⁷ For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. ¹⁸ Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

Carolyn was one of the first people I met when I moved here five years ago, she and I agreed once that she missed her life calling as a stand up comedienne. She loves to laugh and to visit. She told me once that some of her happiest times were when she would frequently visit a local nursing home and visit with the residents there.

She said, “I’ve always tried to be a good person. The Lord has always given me everything I needed and with that I have given back as much as I could to help others to be as happy as I have been with Him in my life. I’ve always asked myself what would Jesus do in any situation because following him has been the right way all of my life.”

Carolyn loved the members in our ward, she called many of us her angels and I know that I, and others, loved our visits with her.
