Obituary of Betty Imogene Simmons

Betty Imogene Simmons was born January 10, 1930-ish in Felton, Georgia to Ray and Betty Isaac. She married Gilbert Milton Simmons on September 15, 1950. She passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at the age of 93, in her home of 73 years, surrounded by her loved ones.

 

Her survivors include three sons, Ned and Sheila Simmons, Mike and Pam Simmons, Tim and Teresa Simmons, and two daughters, Deanna Nabors and Peggy Simmons. Imogene enjoyed her grandchildren and especially enjoyed their visits. She is survived by 15 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 14 great, great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Naomi Stewart and husband Jerry, one brother, Bill Isaac and wife Terri, and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Imogene was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Gilbert, her mama and daddy, one sister, Dorothy Bookout, three grandsons, Jamie Simmons Chris Simmons, Chris Haggerty, one great grandson, Isaac Munaná.

 

Imogene loved the Lord, her family and her home. She will be greatly missed.
