Obituary of Duane John Decker

Please share a memory of Duane to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Born November 18th 1946 to Anton and Pauline Decker(Kuntz) at St Joseph’s Hospital in Dickinson ND. 

 

He was the Third Son out of 13 siblings. He was raised on the family farm South of South Heart ND. He served in the Army and was deployed to Vietnam for 13 months. Returning home in 1969. In 1970 he met the love of his life Bonita Decker (Reiswig).

They got married October 7th, 1972 in McClusky. Duane and Bonnie started their Life together in Dickinson and they started their own bee business B&D Honey.

In 1976 they adopted their daughter Trisha.

Duane was forever a cowboy, and excellent Carpenter. He took pride in wearing his cowboy hat, and everything he built throughout the years. His roots were deep on the Farm and Family. He was a Bee keeper, carpenter, junker, truck driver, hunter, and always a hard worker. 

He absolutely adored his grandchildren Joseph and Casandra. And spending time with them Bird and deer hunting, and fishing.

He was a member of St Pius, New England and St Anthony’s Club, Dickinson. 

Duane and Bonnie moved to Oklahoma after he started to have health issues in 2021. He was greeted by his daughter, son in Law, granddaughter and two bonus grandsons two bonus granddaughters and great grandchildren. 

His last 2 years He enjoyed helping feed bottle calves, watering the cows, taking cat naps under the shade trees in the front yard, and sitting on the porch with his Son-in-law.

 

He was proceeded in death by His father Anton, Mother Pauline, Mother in law Melba, Father in law Melvin. Sister Peggy, Brothers Jim, Rob, Ron. Sister in laws Sig, Carrol, Brother in law Tom.

He is survived by his wife Bonita Decker, daughter Trisha Noble(Shawn), grandchildren Joseph, Casandra, Bonus grandchildren Bryan, Jacob (Joanna), Katie, Kayla (Kris). And 6 Great grandchildren. Brothers Herb, Dick, Dave(Paula)

Sisters Diane(Leo), Kerry(James), Joy, Connie(Rob), Sister in law Debbie (Darrell), Brother in law Jerry and 29 nieces and nephews.
