Obituary of Paul L Dunbar, Sr.
Paul made his last inappropriate and sarcastic comment on March 17, 2024. Though this may be a difficult time, we have found comfort going through his collections; all of which seem to have hidden messages for his loved ones. Old bottles timelessly mined from old houses, rocks, antiques and artifacts, the old rusty tools and fishing poles.
Paul finally escaped his nagging friends and relatives who requested him to fix everything that broke; after all, he was a master carpenter. If you look around Tulsa, you will see his many accomplishments at City of Faith, Saint Francis, Saint John’s and the beautiful wood trims in many of the bank buildings around town.
He would be the first one to help and the last one to leave on any project he took on.
Paul leaves behind his wife Sharon, son Paul, daughters Debbie Todd, Kristy Rogers, Keri Dunbar, stepson Kelly Hays, ten grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Paul loved to travel, and he covered many miles dragging a trailer behind him and spent many summers and falls in our cabin in Buena Vista, Colorado, exploring the mountains on ATV’s. He found his lifelong fishing partner, Sharon. Together, they would leave early and stay late cleaning fish at midnight. He loved going to casinos, playing bingo, and playing dominoes and card games after family dinners. He loved going to church at First Christian Church in Chelsea, Oklahoma. Paul also loved Elvis Gospel songs. He will be missed here on Earth, but he loved the Lord and will walk with Him.
Keep his memory in your heart and someday we will meet again and listen to his goofy little songs that he made up, and his whistling when he was happy.
