Obituary of Calvin Dale Casteel

Calvin Dale Casteel was born in Tulsa, Ok on June 7,1997 to Cliff Casteel and Sheila Casteel. He passed from this life on April 10, 2024 in Tulsa, Ok. Calvin was a loving son, fiance, father, and friend.

Calvin was raised in Kellyville Oklahoma by his mother Sheila and father Clifford Barnes alongside his brothers Chase and Cody. Calvin graduated from Kellyville High School in 2015. While in High School, Calvin played baseball, football, and was a member of the high school bowling team. Hard work was something Calvin was introduced to at a young age and he was known for his strong work ethic. He worked at a few different places in high school such as Ken’s Pizza and Sahoma Lanes Bowling Center. He also worked for his family business C&C construction where he later became a Supervisor. 

In 2023 Calvin began dating the love of his life Emily. He not only fell in love with Emily but her two children Grayson and Emberlynn captured his heart nearly instantly. Just three short weeks before his passing Calvin and Emily welcomed a baby girl Skyla into this world. Calvin took pride in being a father, and was described as the best.

Calvin’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle, playing cornhole, and spending time with his family and friends. Word has it that he was also a pretty good cook. Many memories were made with Calvin at deer camp, on the lake, and on a motorcycle on the open road. Calvin was described as an easy-going young man who was always down for a good time. He will be remembered for his big, infectious smile, his contagious laugh and his love for adventure and cottage cheese.

Calvin is survived by his fiance Emily Carroll of Kellyville; children Grayson, Emberlynn, and Skyla of Kellyville; mother and father Clifford and Sheila Barnes of Kellyville; Brothers Chase Casteel and Cody Barnes of Kellyville; Sister Claudia Barnes of Sapulpa; Launi Barnes of Chandler; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.             

A celebration of Calvin’s life will be held on 4/17/24 at 10 am at the Glenpool Conference Center 12205 S Yukon Ave, Glenpool, OK 74033. Graveside to follow at Greenhill Cemetery. All friends and family are invited to dinner and fellowship at the Glenpool conference Center at 2 pm.
