Obituary of Edgar Odell Harrelson

Edgar Odell Harrelson went to be with the Lord on April 16th, 2024, at the age of 81. He passed peacefully in his home in Owasso, Oklahoma. He was born to Edgar and Audie Harrelson on August 1st, 1942, in Beggs, OK.

Edgar is survived by his wife Patricia and son Brian and his siblings Donald Harrelson, Sue Webb, and Betty Cochran. David Harrelson, his youngest brother passed years earlier.

Edgar attended Oklahoma State University where he met the love of his life, Patricia Elizabeth Metzger and married on May 31st, 1964.

Edgar was drafted for the Vietnam War in 1967 and was honorably discharged in 1969. He received the Combat Infantry Badge and Good Conduct Medal.

Edgar was the Poultry Production Manager for Plantation Foods/Cargill in Austin and Waco TX and retired in 2002. After retiring Edgar and Patricia moved to Port Aransas, Texas for a few years and then returned to Oklahoma to be closer to family.

 Edgar enjoyed helping others, OU athletics, Boston Terrier Bulldogs, gardening, traveling, and making sure his family was taken care of. Edgar most importantly loved the Lord.

Edgar was loved and will be very much missed by his wife, son, family, and friends.
