Obituary of Wendy Ann Wheaton

Wendy was born in Santa Maria California to Irving and Louise Munoz in 1956.

She grew up on the family property outside of Los Alamos Ca.

She graduated 8th grade from Los Alamos elementary and attended Santa Ynez High School then spent her Junior year at Ernest Righetti High School in Orcutt. She dropped out to go to work and later obtained her GED.

At 18 she married her lifelong love, Cliff Wheaton. They met on a blind date in Buellton CA.  They were married at the Lompoc Ca. courthouse Feb 7, 1975. From this union they had 2 sons, Daniel Wheaton and Mark Wheaton.

Before moving to Oklahoma Wendy was a member of the Santa Barbara Cattlewomen and worked part time for several years for the 101 livestock market. After moving permanently to Oklahoma in 1989 Wendy was employed by Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Tulsa from 1990 to 2018. She loved the work she performed there as well as her coworkers, many have become cherished friends.

Wendy and Cliff were camp hosts for several years at Sequoyah State Park on Fort Gibson Lake where they had the pleasure of meeting and camping with many wonderful people.  She was a long-standing member as well as serving as president of Assistance in Healthcare that assisted cancer patients with unforeseen expenses.

The greatest love of Wendy's life was their grandsons, Heston Wheaton born 2016 and Hayes Wheaton born 2019 to parents Mark and Brittney Wheaton of Guthrie Ok.

In retirement she enjoyed camping and fishing and hunting. Wendy harvested a nice buck with her cross bow.  She loved to garden! She and Cliff made a 2-week trip of a lifetime to Alaska.  Also, several other trips outside of Oklahoma. They loved to travel health permitted.

Wendy was preceded in death by her parents and her son Daniel Wheaton.

She is survived by her husband Cliff Wheaton, Mark Wheaton and wife Brittney Heyman Wheaton and their sons Heston Neal and Hayes Daniel Wheaton, siblings Rodney Munoz and wife Vickie and Barbara Munoz Campbell and husband Dick Campbell and numerous nieces, nephews as well as a host of great friends
